Maintaining Momentum

Maintaining Momentum

Do you feel like your circle has momentum? Do you feel like people are making progress and moving forward, growing and developing?

This is something as circle coaches we all want to achieve. We want to lead a circle that is full of achievement, where wins are constantly being celebrated. We want to create an environment that’s attractive and where people can’t wait to join. We want to see continuous growth happening and see our circle members, go through The Winning University and become circle coaches.

By September 2021 the vision is to see 100 circles.

If we want to see all these things, we must realise momentum starts with us and is maintained by us.

When we look at the word momentum it defines it as ‘the force that keeps an object moving.’

We are the force behind this momentum. It comes down to us as individuals. If we want to see all those things happen then we have to have our own vision, excitement and heart for others. When we talk about us as individuals being the force behind this movement it goes without saying, we NEED Jesus. We can’t do any of this without Him. Without Him none of this matters. But I think it’s holding the tension of allowing Jesus to do what only he can do, and making sure we do as much as we can do.

So I ask myself this question; How am I growing right now? How’s my relationship with Jesus right now? Is it a reactive relationship? Or is it intentional and bearing fruit? Am I engaging with the holy spirit on a daily basis, am I allowing him to do work within me?

I am not asking this question from a place of condemnation, but one of honesty and evaluation. We have a responsibility and a privilege of leading a circle, a group of people closer to Jesus.

Getting momentum going can sometimes feel like hard work, and an important part of momentum is our mindset. If we decide to give up quickly because we aren’t seeing those things then we will never see the desired growth and development we want from people. None of this is about what we want, it’s all about pulling out the MORE that is within us.

Momentum + mindset = Achievement.  (Unlocking our God given potential.)

But don’t give up easily.

Galatians 6:9-10 (MSG)

9-10 So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

I love that verse. Paul is challenging the Galatians to persevere, even when circumstances around us are difficult, even if we can’t see the fruit yet. But then encourages us to say we will reap a good harvest.

Momentum is about movement. No matter how slow, just keep on moving forward.
